With a great sense of fun and good humour, Cyril loved sounds, words and language. He would entertain his friends and family with his quirky way of saying things, changing words, changing his voice, using expressions.

Probably the best example of this is in the name of this page!!! He would often put in the letter d after the r in many words, (making them phoenetically very strange) but giving them a whole new pronunciation.

He had a great mastery of language, loved writing, and had even begun to learn to speak Thai (NOT easy, as I can testify, having just started!!)
